New Balance | Field Trip | Branded Documentary | Self-Shooting Director & Editor

A short branded documentary following South-East London running collective Grove Lane as they attempt the legendary Speed Project: a 500km relay race across the Atacama Desert in Chile.

Working as self-shooting director and editor, I captured the journey using a compact FX6 and FX3 setup, allowing for an agile approach in an extreme environment while maintaining a cinematic visual style.

The film balances endurance, camaraderie and the surreal landscapes of the Atacama, documenting the physical and emotional demands of the race while reflecting Grove Lane’s community-driven ethos.

Colour was finished by OkayStudio, bringing the desert environment and raw race footage together into a cohesive visual tone.

The project was later recognised with the Adobe MAX Video Professional Award in 2025.
